Faculty Search Committee Workshops 2016-2017

For the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters the following workshops for members of faculty search committees have been scheduled (please see the rules concerning attendance in the STRIDE workshops below):

The capacity of each workshop is typically limited to 25 or 40 participants, so it is mandatory that you reserve space by emailing the following information to stride@utk.edu:

• First and last name
• Unit (department, school, center, and/or college)
• utk.edu email address

You will be required to sign-in at each workshop and after the workshop you will receive an email stating that you participated in the particular workshop.

UTK Workshop / Training requirements (changed as of AY16)

1. Only the Search Committee Chair will be required to meet with an OED (Office of Equity and Diversity) representative unless the requirement is waived by OED.
2. OED will offer five sessions for chairs in the fall semester and two in the spring. Each college is responsible for having the chairs of the search committees attend one of these sessions. Any searches approved after the meetings will require the department to work with OED to meet the requirement.
3. The campus will phase in a requirement that search committee members attend a STRIDE presentation
   1. 2015-16: one-third of the members of the search committee must attend or have attended a presentation by STRIDE
   2. 2016-17: two-thirds of the members of the search committee must attend or have attended a presentation by STRIDE within the last 3 years.
   3. 2017-18: every member of the search committee must attend or have attended a presentation by STRIDE within the last 3 years.
